We are seeking a highly skilled SOX Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations and collaborate with management stakeholders to provide guidance and maintain an effective control environment. The ideal candidate will have an extensive background in public accounting, preferably from a Big Four firm, managing SOX engagements and experience in the healthcare industry. This role requires expertise in business process and IT controls, as well as familiarity with SOX frameworks and tools such as COSO, COBIT, and PCAOB standards. This candidate will project manage the SOX Program, report frequently to the Head of Internal Audit, and partner directly with audit teams throughout all phases of a SOX engagement.
Manage our SOX compliance program and coordinate auditing and control procedures with various departments as well as third parties for planning, scoping, walkthroughs, testing, and remediation efforts. Build and cultivate positive collaborative relationships with these groups to optimize audit processes and facilitate trust.
Maintaining process and data flows for key processes / IT systems and proactively providing risk/controls consulting in situations where new systems/processes are being implemented and involve significant risks.
Coordinate closely with SOX consultants and external auditors in aligning on SOX/audit plans and discussing internal audit results, findings, and remediation efforts. Understand and manage consultant/external auditor expectations to help improve the audit experience for all involved parties.
Regularly prepare and present updates on the SOX audit to the SOX PMO team including: Head of Internal Audit, CFO, CTO, Chief Accounting Officer, partnering with the Senior Director Engineering and t, tailoring content, and communication to the intended audience.
About you...
A bachelor’s degree or relevant experience with a CPA or similar audit certification.
Currently or recently employed with a Big 4 public accounting firm, with background in managing a SOX engagement for a public company from risk assessment to reporting.
5-10 years of public accounting experience, with a focus on SOX compliance and internal controls, business process and IT general controls.
Experience in the healthcare industry is preferred.
Excellent business acumen, communications, influencing and analytical skills and ability to interact effectively at all levels of management.
Strong leadership and management skills with a track record of using these effectively to deliver significant results.
Sufficient experience and knowledge of information technology and applying this knowledge to ensure that technological aspects of SOX are properly addressed.
Well organized, and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment, while focused on quality
Demonstrates attention to detail.
Excellent project management skills.
Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
Familiarity with AI/Automation platforms and tools such as Power Automate, Microsoft Co-Pilot, and Microsoft Fabric.

In compliance with New York City's Wage Transparency Law, the annual salary [wage] range for NYC-based applicants is: $120,000 - $135,000. There are a variety of factors that go into determining a salary range, including but not limited to external market benchmark data, geographic location, and years of experience sought/required. Progyny offers a total compensation package comprised of base salary, cash bonus, and equity.
