The Medical Biller plays a vital role in the financial health of Vynca by ensuring accurate and timely billing and reimbursement for healthcare services. This role requires deep understanding of medical billing processes, payer guidelines, and compliance standards. The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is passionate about making a difference in healthcare.

This is a critical role and we are looking to fill it as soon as possible.

What you'll do

  • Submit accurate and timely claims to Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payers, ensuring compliance with all billing guidelines.

  • Review and verify patient data, insurance information, and clinical documentation to ensure clean claim submission.

  • Identify and resolve claim rejections, denials, and billing discrepancies, including follow-up with payers as needed.

  • Post payments and reconcile accounts, ensuring accuracy in patient and payer balances.

  • Work closely with internal teams (Care Management, Clinical, and Finance) to resolve billing issues and support cross-functional collaboration.

  • Maintain knowledge of coding guidelines (CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS) and payer policies to ensure compliance and maximum reimbursement.

  • Monitor accounts receivable (A/R) and assist with collection efforts.

  • Participate in audits and support continuous improvement of billing processes.

Your experience & qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • 3+ years of experience in medical billing, preferably in a remote care or behavioral/serious illness care setting

  • Proficiency in billing software, electronic medical records (EMR), and clearinghouse systems

  • Strong understanding of healthcare reimbursement methodologies (FFS, capitation, value-based care)

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills


Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with palliative care, enhanced care management, or serious illness programs

  • Certification as a Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or Certified Professional Coder (CPC) through AAPC or similar accrediting body

  • Familiarity with Medicare Advantage and managed Medicaid billing

  • Experience working in a fast-paced startup or growth-stage environment
