Virta Health is on a mission to transform type 2 diabetes and weight-loss care. Current treatment approaches aren’t working—over half of US adults have either type 2 diabetes or prediabetes, and obesity rates are at an all-time high. Virta is changing this by helping people reverse their metabolic condition through innovations in technology, personalized nutrition, and virtual care delivery reinvented from the ground up. We have raised over $350 million from top-tier investors, and partner with the largest health plans, employers, and government organizations to help their employees and members restore their health and take back their lives. Join us on our mission to reverse diabetes and obesity in one billion people.

We’re looking for a strategic and investor-savvy professional to lead Virta’s investor relations function. This is a unique opportunity to shape the external financial narrative for one of the most transformative companies in digital health. As the Vice President, Investor Relations, you’ll work directly with the CFO and executive team to build meaningful relationships with investors, communicate our performance and vision to the market, and support Virta’s growth as we scale. If you’re energized by translating complex financials into compelling stories and engaging with the investment community, this is the role for you.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a strategic investor relations (IR) program aligned with Virta’s financial and long-term goals

  • Serve as the primary liaison between Virta and the investment community, including institutional investors and analysts

  • Lead the creation of investor materials such as earnings presentations, Q&A scripts, investor decks, and quarterly updates

  • Partner closely with Finance, Legal, and Communications on earnings preparation, regulatory filings, and disclosures

  • Monitor market trends, peer performance, and investor sentiment to inform leadership and refine IR strategy

  • Organize and lead investor meetings, non-deal roadshows, and industry conferences

  • Provide feedback to executive leadership on market perceptions, valuation trends, and strategic opportunities

  • Ensure compliance with SEC and regulatory standards as needed (especially in pre-IPO or IPO contexts)

90 Day Plan

Within your first 90 days at Virta, we expect you will do the following:

  • Gain deep understanding of Virta’s business model, financials, and long-term strategy

  • Conduct a comprehensive audit of existing IR materials, tools, and communications

  • Build relationships with key investors, analysts, and cross-functional internal stakeholders

  • Design an IR strategy roadmap tailored to Virta’s stage and strategic goals

  • Lead or co-lead Virta’s next investor update, incorporating best practices and strategic storytelling

  • Set up systems to track investor feedback, sentiment, and competitive intelligence

Must-Haves

  • 10+ years of experience in investor relations, finance, equity research, or investment banking

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; ability to translate financial data into compelling narratives

  • Track record of managing investor relations for a high-growth or pre-IPO company (healthcare/tech strongly preferred)

  • Strong knowledge of capital markets, financial modeling, and valuation methodologies

  • Executive presence and comfort interfacing with senior leaders, investors, and analysts

Values-driven culture

Virta’s company values drive our culture, so you’ll do well if:

  • You put people first and take care of yourself, your peers, and our patients equally

  • You have a strong sense of ownership and take initiative while empowering others to do the same

  • You prioritize positive impact over busy work

  • You have no ego and understand that everyone has something to bring to the table regardless of experience

  • You appreciate transparency and promote trust and empowerment through open access of information

  • You are evidence-based and prioritize data and science over seniority or dogma

  • You take risks and rapidly iterate
