Job Title: Senior Director, Data and Science (Analytic Solutions)

Job Intro:

As Verana Health reinvents how research happens with data and technology in the healthcare space, we are growing our Data and Science team to solve complex real-world problems across multiple therapeutic areas, including urology, ophthalmology, and neurology. We are looking for a Senior Director to oversee the Analytic Solutions group within the Data and Science team. This team works directly with customers tlauo execute a variety of analytic services as well as providing training and consultative support to commercial clients that subscribe to one of Verana’s data products. Day-to-day activities for this team include attending client meetings, protocol development, code implementation, results generation and presentation.
This role will report directly to the Senior Vice President of Data and Science. We are looking for experience interfacing with a variety of teams within life science companies, such as HEOR and medical affairs, to provide analytic solutions that generate evidence across different use cases that span the clinical development cycle.
Direct experience working with ophthalmology, urology, and/or neurology clinical data is considered a plus. Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Verana Health is looking for a Senior Director with a background in epidemiology and/or biostatistics, specifically in observational data, as well as deep experience collaborating directly with life science companies.

  • Drive discussions with life science customers to understand project objectives and stakeholder needs in order to align with Verana’s offerings
  • Serve as a key client-facing member of the Data and Science team, which includes Quantitative Sciences, for analytic services projects
  • Be a hands-on individual contributor for critical commercial retrospective clinical studies, which includes owning the development of the protocols, methodology and statistical analysis plans as well as driving results interpretation and read-outs
  • Has a solid grasp of relevant technical approaches (biostatistics and/or epidemiology) and their respective assumptions
  • Have a strong familiarity with resource planning to align analytic capacity relative to signed and soon-to-be signed contracts
  • Direct experience working with teams embedded within life science organizations (e.g., HEOR, medical affairs, commercial)
  • Hands-on people management experience
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with teams (e.g., Commercial, Product, Medical, Engineering/Technology, etc.) to translate clinical investigation questions into detailed data analytics requirements for internal and external projects

Basic Requirements:

  • Master’s or doctorate in a quantitative discipline (e.g., biostatistics, epidemiology, health economics, etc.) or equivalent practical experience
  • 10+ years customer-facing experience working through client solutioning/scoping and escalations
  • 10+ years working with life science/pharmaceutical/biotechnology organizations and familiarity with providing analytic services to these groups
  • 5+ years managing teams that design and execute research studies for life sciences
  • 5+ years overseeing capacity and resourcing related to rendering analytic services to inform cost and target margin
  • Familiarity with clinical datasets and market landscape of various data offerings
  • Familiarity with pharmaceutical industry’s strategy and business processes, including clinical trials, new drug introduction and clinical operations
  • Clear communication skills and able to deliver internal/external presentations, particularly to executive teams
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple initiatives with high attention to detail

Verana Health is committed to complying with all applicable pay transparency laws and supports equitable pay practices. We pay based on a market-based approach, supported with robust data and in alignment with the compensation of our existing team. We construct our compensation ranges based on the US national average but your pay may vary depending on your location and the cost of living index for that geographic area. In determining an offer, base salary will also be based on experience, qualifications, skills and market conditions.
