Reporting to the Director of Engineering at Stealth Venture, you will take on a high-visibility, high-impact role as a Senior Engineering Manager. You will build and lead a new team from the ground up, focused on developing innovative tools and features that empower providers to expand their reach and enhance their visibility to prospective clients. Your team's work will directly enable patients to find providers who best match their specific needs, fostering strong therapeutic alliances and promoting positive clinical outcomes.

What you’ll be doing

  • Build and lead a new high-performing engineering team focused on developing innovative tools that empower providers to expand their reach and improve their discoverability with prospective clients.
  • Collaborate closely with product managers and product designers on the Stealth Venture team to define and drive the technical vision and roadmap for the team.
  • Recruit, onboard, and mentor software engineers, fostering professional growth and a collaborative team culture.
  • Provide technical guidance and ensure high-quality and timely project delivery.
  • Drive execution across teams and organizations.
  • Develop your team through regular one-on-ones, mentorship, and constructive feedback, cultivating future leaders.
  • Ensure operational support for your team and implement processes for managing team operations, including developer experience and technical debt management.
  • Drive continuous improvement by staying updated on industry trends and incorporating relevant advancements into the team's workflow.

What success looks like in this role

  • Launch the first iteration of our Go-To-Market product within 2 quarters.
  • Deliver on market-leading usability and satisfaction (CSAT >4.5) for our members.
  • Maintain and enhance strong engineering practices (e.g., minimizing code churn, improving cycle time, etc.).
  • Build scalable architectures that support future growth and integrations.
  • Elevate the standards of engineering excellence and delivery while fostering an environment that values ownership, collaboration, and purpose.

Minimum Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience managing and leading a high output engineering team building user-facing products.
  • 6+ years of experience building and scaling systems as an individual contributor.
  • Organizational leadership experience, including collaborating with executive leadership.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience mentoring teams of senior engineers over multi-quarter or multi-year projects.
  • A strong commitment to understanding and advocating for users' needs, crafting great experiences.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in high-growth startup environments.
  • Experience in health tech, building user-facing products.
  • Experience defining the roadmap for complex projects spanning multiple teams and functions.
  • Ability to clearly identify business priorities, create new areas of investment, anticipate pitfalls and risks, and provide deep technical expertise for the teams you lead.
  • Experience leading teams distributed across time zones and regions.
  • Familiarity building and scaling codebases in React, GraphQL, and/or Ruby on Rails.

The target base salary range for this position is $179,100-$218,550, and is part of a competitive total rewards package including stock options and benefits. Individual pay may vary from the target range and is determined by a number of factors including experience, location, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations. We review all employee pay and compensation programs annually using Radford Global Compensation Database at minimum to ensure competitive and fair pay.
