Summary:

The Clinical Workflow Specialist, reporting to the Senior Manager of Clinical Operations- Program development, will focus on development and optimizing clinical and operational workflows to better the CKD and ESRD population, using evidence-based research and best practices.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure clinical and operational workflows align with requirements set forth by NCQA, Medicaid, SNP, CMS, and other regulatory entities.

  • Create and update workflows for new implementations, updated processes, and any changes related to operational processes.

  • Update associated clinical/operational documentation, checklists, job aids, etc.

  • Collaborate closely with clinical/operational training department to ensure seamless coordination of new and updated workflows and processes.

  • Collaborate with clinical program teams to ensure alignment of clinical and operational workflows.

  • Work cross functionally with multiple teams to determine clinical/operational development needs and updates.

  • Identify areas of opportunity to clarify or improve clinical/operational workflows.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree, Nursing degree, or other comparable healthcare experience.

  • experience with interpreting clinical data to create process to improve clinical outcomes

  • Three (3) years’ experience designing clinical/operational workflows.

  • Three (3) years' experience in care management, value-based care, or population health.

  • Experience with MOC, SNP, SLA, NCQA, CMS, and other training compliance requirements.

  • RN, NP, RD or PharmD clinical licensure preferred, but not required.

  • Experience in managing vulnerable patient populations (ESRD, pediatrics, geriatrics, minorities, low income, uninsured, etc.)

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Acute attention to detail.

  • Ability to be both a strategic and tactical change agent in renal space.

  • Self-starter who will take initiative and be proactive.

  • Strategic solution-seeker who sees opportunities when others see barriers.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills are required for cross-functional collaboration.

  • Understanding of healthcare workflows for population health, value-based care, and care management, as well as the ability to think through workflows and any implications from suggested changes.

  • Contributes to a strong culture of continuous development and rapid iteration.

  • Ability to document and analyze complex business requirements and processes.

  • Ability to manage multiple, competing priorities with minimal oversight.

  • Ability to handle ambiguity and desire to work in a fast-paced start-up environment.

  • Understands and complies with highest standards of confidentiality.

  • Proficient in Microsoft applications including Visio, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other web-based applications

Travel Requirement:

  • This position requires up to 10% travel. Travel may be outside the local area and overnight.

Physical Requirements:

  • This job operates in a professional office setting. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit or stand for extended periods of time. Normal manual dexterity is required.

  • Normal speaking and hearing abilities to interact with others in an office environment, over telephone or other video conferencing platform.

  • The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; and reach with hands and arms and continuously repeat the same hand, arm finger motion many times as in typing.
