The Job at a Glance
As a Soda Health Full-Stack Engineer you'll design, implement, and refine exciting, innovative digital products. Your direct work will be put into the hands of everyday people. Your designs and solutions will improve lives by making benefits more understandable and accessible for people in need.
Our stack moves millions of dollars over open-loop payment networks, among dozens of insurance plan sponsors and nearly every major chain retailer in the country. The system you will be writing in is a state-of-the-art multi-tenant SaaS, purpose-built for benefits administration, where scale and security are paramount.
What You Will Do
Working within an organization created at the intersection of health care, retail and financial technology, no two days will look the same. Typical responsibilities of the role include:
- Working as part of a backend-heavy team, where your special sauce is to bring the totality of the team’s efforts to the screen
- Shipping fast, as part of a capable, nimble, high-performing engineering staff
- Participating in efficient weekly ceremonies that respect engineering time-to-build
- Learning from those around you, and taking opportunities to build expertise in the systems you work on
- Delivering features safely to production via continuous delivery, and owning what you ship in prod
- Manifesting complex Enterprise Software™ integrations
- Participating in a healthy production culture (including sane, balanced on-call)

About You
While every candidate brings a unique resume and prospective, an ideal candidate will include:
- 3+ years software engineering experience
- Desire to work hard, take ownership and be autonomous but still collaborative
- Practiced ability to present and demo your work so others can understand it
- Instinct to leave a written trail to clarify, document, and share what you’ve learned
- Experience working in a full-stack environment where the backend is strongly typed (we use Golang)
- Solid fundamentals in browser tech (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and databases (SQL)
- Familiarity with container technology (Docker or similar)
- Experience using LLMs to augment your personal productivity as an engineer
- Know-how with effective logging and debugging on both server and browser side
- Confidence and ability to provide supportive and critical feedback in PR reviews to make the code better for everyone
- Enthusiasm for writing efficient tests that produce tight feedback loops
- Positivity and passion to solve problems for real, everyday people
- Bachelor’s degree or similar experience strongly preferred
Other Requirements
- Travel may be required from time to time as part of the role, for company events and business needs
- Soda Health is a remote-first, distributed workforce. Candidates should be comfortable with, and equipped to work within, a distributed remote team, including having reliable internet access and basic home office equipment. Soda Health will provide a work laptop, and mouse/keyboard upon request
