About Seen Health

At Seen Health, we are revolutionizing the way senior care is delivered through the PACE (Programs of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly) model. Backed by top VCs, Seen Health is a culturally-focused, technology-enabled healthcare organization that integrates comprehensive medical care and social support with a high-touch, interdisciplinary approach.

Our mission is to empower seniors to age-in-place with dignity and provide their families peace of mind. We are building upon a proven Home and community based services model to create a culturally-competent and scalable PACE program. We are also building a comprehensive operating system focused on data and workflows that span across systems, processes, people, and care contexts. We want to empower our clinicians and staff with tools that deliver relevant data at the time and site of care and enable them to deliver exceptional care to our participants, which improve clinical outcomes, participant & provider satisfaction, and ultimately our strength as an organization.

We are a mission-driven, multidisciplinary team with deep healthcare, technology, and operations expertise, each inspired by our own personal stories of caring for seniors in our lives. Our name, Seen Health, was chosen to reflect our commitment to provide the highest standard of care to underserved older adults while respecting and incorporating their individual beliefs, heritage, and values, so that they can truly be seen.

About the Role

We are seeking a Founding Engineer who values technology as a tool to create leverage for our team, not an end in itself. You'll be the driving force behind our tech platform to serve both the Seen Health San Gabriel Valley PACE program and our tech design partners. You will create systems and tools for our clinicians and staff that respect their skills and time, deliver relevant data at the time and site of care, and enhance their ability to deliver exceptional care to our participants. You have opportunities to venture beyond software to craft solutions that incorporate devices, personnel, families, local communities, and the broader healthcare ecosystem. We prize pragmatism and dismiss the "Not-Invented-Here" syndrome; whether we're developing solutions or integrating existing ones, we focus on addressing complex problems with the most effective tools at our disposal.

What you’ll own

  • Develop our end-to-end operating system that spans growth, care delivery, operations, analytics, and finance with state-of-the-art engineering and AI tools
  • Build & integrate LLM agents that work alongside our teams and deliver measurable impact
  • Build capabilities and infrastructure via TypeScript/Node, React, AWS/GCP, Terraform, SST, Medplum
  • Pair weekly with clinicians & ops; measure success in minutes/hours saved and outcomes improved.
  • Make buy vs build decisions on everything from transportation systems to data warehouses; no “Not-Invented-Here.”
  • Be a culture-setter: tech roadmap, eng hiring, AI use and ethics, security posture.

Must-haves

  • 7-10 yrs shipping prod software, including end-to-end ownership of a 0 → 1 system
  • Fluency in TypeScript/Node (or another general purpose language) + cloud-native design; comfort with event-driven, data-heavy workloads
  • Comfort working in a dynamic and cross functional environment with evolving objectives and direct iteration with users, including non-technical individuals
  • Bias for action, pragmatism, and writing clear, compassionate code
  • Energized by standing shoulder-to-shoulder with clinicians serving vulnerable elders.

Nice-to-haves

  • Proficiency with modern AI development practices and experience with production LLM applications
  • Healthcare application or data (FHIR/HL7/EDI/claims) experience
  • Strong product and design sense, expertise in design systems and product engineering
  • Expertise in data (schema / system design, analytics, ETL)
  • Infra-as-code mastery (Terraform, Pulumi, SST) and security-by-design mindset.
  • Mandarin, Cantonese proficiency.
