About Proscia

Proscia is revolutionizing pathology, the last major frontier in healthcare to embrace digital. As a leader in pathology AI software, we are empowering pathologists and scientists to transition from traditional microscope-based workflows to digital, AI-driven approaches, unlocking new possibilities in precision medicine.

The digital pathology market is experiencing explosive growth as advances in AI enable unprecedented insights into diseases like cancer. Pathology is central to medicine, and the shift to AI-powered solutions is not just modernizing workflows—it’s transforming how diseases are diagnosed, treated, and understood. Predictions for the future of pathology show a tidal wave of adoption, with experts describing the field as “poised for the next major breakthrough” in healthcare innovation.

Backed by over $100 million in funding from leading healthcare and technology investors, Proscia is at the forefront of this revolution. Joining Proscia means being part of a company at the cutting edge of healthcare innovation, where the possibilities are limitless. With the convergence of AI, precision medicine, and digital pathology, we’re not just changing pathology—we’re redefining what’s possible in medicine.

Role Overview

You’ll be a hands-on builder who prototypes, ships, and scales AI and automation- powered workflows that remove inefficiencies and unlock measurable business value. You’ll partner with GTM, Operations, Finance, CS, HR, and R&D to translate problems into rapid pilots (weeks, not months), prove impact, and turn wins into durable, reliable solutions.

This role is ideal for a technician who loves blending business strategy with system (APIs, webhooks, LLMs, RPA/BPM) and who gets energy from seeing teams move faster because of what you built.

What You’ll Do

Working at a startup like Proscia means wearing many hats, but when you come to work you can expect to focus on the following:

  • Prototype and ship AI-powered workflows and internal tools (agents, copilots, automations) that improve speed, accuracy, and customer/employee experience.
  • Automate repetitive processes across functions (e.g., campaign ops & enrichment, ticket triage/deflection, vendor onboarding, AP/AR, reporting).
  • Integrate systems using APIs, webhooks, events, and lightweight services; connect data sources to LLMs safely and efficiently.
  • Run rapid experiments: design value hypotheses, define success metrics, build MVPs, and iterate based on user feedback and telemetry.
  • Harden and scale what works: add tests, observability, access controls, fallbacks/guardrails, and performance improvements; document and hand off.
  • Create reusable components (prompts, tools, connectors, templates) and share playbooks that help other teams move faster.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with business owners, data/platform teams, and security to ship solutions that are compliant and supportable.
  • Contribute to the CoE: participate in design reviews, pair on tricky problems, and help evolve standards for reliability, cost, and responsible AI.

What We’re Seeking

We’re looking for people who are smart, nice, and get stuff done. Proscia is a high-growth company, and we want entrepreneurial doers that thrive in a challenging environment—people ready to build the plane while flying it.
Proscia’s next AI Ops Leader will have:

2–5+ years in software engineering, automation, or internal tools.

A builder mindset: comfortable with ambiguity, iteration, and learning new systems/tools.

Hands-on fluency in one or more of: Python or JavaScript/TypeScript; SQL; REST/gRPC; event/webhook patterns; git.

Experience with AI delivery: prompt design, agent orchestration, retrieval/RAG, guardrails, and data privacy.

Experience connecting common business systems (e.g., Salesforce, Zendesk, Workday, Notion) into cohesive workflows.

Strong collaborator skill set: someone who can translate business needs into technical plans and explain trade-offs clearly.

Nice-to-Haves

Orchestration/agents: LangGraph, LangChain, Semantic Kernel.

Automation/workflow: Zapier, Workato, n8n, UiPath, ServiceNow Flow.

LLMOps/evals: MLflow, Weights & Biases, TruLens, Promptfoo.

Data & vector stores: pgvector, Pinecone, Weaviate, dbt, Postgres/BigQuery.

Internal tools: React, Next.js, Retool.

Cloud familiarity: AWS, Azure, GCP.

Beyond Just Work
As a company in healthcare, we want our people to be happy and healthy — in and out of the office. In addition to competitive pay, we ensure everyone on our team is supported with savings, schedule, and insurance options that promote long-term health and personal growth.

Our office environment is designed for creativity and agility: with walls as notepads and couches for collaboration. We’re located in the heart of Philadelphia, with views of the city so you can spend your time focusing on what matters most.

At Proscia, we don’t just accept differences — we celebrate them, we support them, and we thrive on them for the benefit of our employees, our products, and our community. Proscia is proud to be an equal opportunity workplace.

How We Work
Our cadence follows a startup rhythm: discovery → hypothesis → MVP (≤ 4–6 weeks) → measure → scale or sunset. We measure what matters: business value, reliability, and user adoption. AI is embedded in everything we do — both in the products we build and in how we work. Every Proscian is expected to be AI-fluent — leveraging tools like ChatGPT to move faster, reason better, and deliver exceptional results.
