Pomelo Care is the leading virtual medical practice for women and children, providing care across pregnancy, postpartum, pediatrics, menopause, and perimenopause. We combine proactive, 24/7 clinical care with technology that helps us reach patients earlier, identify risks sooner, and deliver personalized care throughout their journey. Our team includes clinicians, technologists, operators, and problem-solvers working together to make high-quality care more accessible for families nationwide.
We’re seeking a Head of Provider Network Strategy to build, scale, and lead the engine that powers our clinician supply. As we expand our Midlife offering, a high-quality, reliable, and engaged provider network is critical to our growth.
This is a highly cross-functional leadership role spanning provider growth, operations, and technology. You’ll own the end-to-end provider lifecycle from acquisition and onboarding through activation, capacity management, performance, and ongoing engagement. You’ll build the systems, processes, and operating model to efficiently recruit exceptional clinicians, get them delivering care quickly, and maintain high standards for quality, availability, and patient experience.
Define the vision, strategy, metrics, and operating cadence for the full provider lifecycle, from acquisition and contracting through onboarding, activation, engagement, performance, and retention.
Design clinician compensation models, tiered incentive structures, and utilization targets that balance rapid network scaling with strong gross margins.
Partner with Recruiting to develop the systems, tools, playbooks, and provider value proposition needed to attract and convert clinicians at scale. Own funnel performance across sourcing, outreach, conversion, and offer acceptance.
Own the journey from offer acceptance to first patient. Identify and eliminate friction across contracting, credentialing, onboarding, technology, scheduling, and training to reduce time-to-first-patient.
Simplify and unify clinician onboarding across specialties, leveraging technology, automation, and AI where they improve efficiency while preserving the human touchpoints that matter.
Translate business forecasts into provider capacity requirements and build models to ensure we have the right supply by specialty, geography, availability, and other relevant dimensions.
Partner with Clinical Operations and clinical leadership to define and manage standards for provider quality, performance, engagement, utilization, and patient experience.
Establish scalable operational guidelines for managing the network while navigating clinical, regulatory, credentialing, and worker-classification requirements.
Hire, develop, and lead a high-performing provider operations team with clear goals, high accountability, and a strong culture of
8+ years of operational leadership experience in marketplace, provider network, or digital health operations.
Proven track record in scaling 1099 clinician networks with a strong understanding of the operational, regulatory, and compliance considerations involved.
0→1 builder who thrives in ambiguity and can turn an undefined problem into a clear strategy, operating model, and scalable system.
Data-driven & analytical operator who has owned critical funnel metrics end-to-end and knows how to diagnose friction and structurally improve conversion.
First-principles systems thinker with strong instincts for automation, knowing which touchpoints to automate with technology/AI and which human touchpoints to protect to ensure a high-trust experience.
Experienced people leader who has built and developed high-performing teams, set a high bar for execution, and creates an environment of autonomy, urgency, and accountability.
The expected base salary range offered for this role is $250,000-$270,000. This role is also eligible for an annual performance bonus and equity, giving you an ownership stake in Pomelo’s mission. Actual compensation may vary based on relevant experience, skills, competencies, and certifications.
