About us

Pomelo Care is a multi-disciplinary team of clinicians, engineers and problem solvers who are passionate about improving care for moms and babies. We are transforming outcomes for pregnant people and babies with evidence-based pregnancy and newborn care at scale. Our technology-driven care platform enables us to engage patients early, conduct individualized risk assessments for poor pregnancy outcomes, and deliver coordinated, personalized virtual care throughout pregnancy, NICU stays, and the first postpartum year. We measure ourselves by reductions in preterm births, NICU admissions, c-sections and maternal mortality; we improve outcomes and reduce healthcare spend.

Role description

Your North Star: supercharge our care team's ability to deliver life-changing support by building an intelligent, AI-powered clinical platform they can't live without.

We’re looking for a product manager who is obsessed with making clinical experts more effective. This role is focused internally on our greatest asset: our integrated care team. We need to create best-in-class tools that enable our care team to consistently deliver high quality care to our patients. You will be responsible for building the core tools and AI-driven workflows that power our entire care model.

This is a deeply cross-functional role. You will work as a thought partner to our clinical and operations leaders to shape our care delivery strategy. You’ll also work side-by-side with other product managers, product ops, and user research to form a cohesive product function. Your job is to get to the root of a problem, and deliver solutions that our care team willingly adopts because they see the clear value for themselves and for our patients.

What you'll do

  • Develop and ship practical features that augment clinical decision-making, automate administrative work, and surface the right information at the right time to drive better patient outcomes.
  • Hold yourself and the team accountable for moving key business metrics like clinician efficiency, quality gap closure, and patient engagement. Your job is successful when your products drive measurable behavior change.
  • Get in the weeds with our clinicians and operators through deep shadowing, interviews, and data analysis to understand their workflows, pain points, and unmet needs.
  • Transform our evidence-based clinical protocols and operational needs into intuitive, seamless product experiences that our team loves to use.
  • Scope and build product features, making tough, data-informed decisions to ensure we're always working on what matters most for our patients and our business.
  • Ensure every feature built for our internal team is also evaluated for its impact on the patient experience. You’ll ship tools that benefit our team while creating a better, more seamless journey for the families we serve.
  • Work as a core member of a focused team, partnering closely with your product peers, engineering, design, clinical, and operations leads to rapidly ship, test, and iterate.

Who you are

  • 2+ years of product management experience, with a track record of building products from the ground up that solve complex workflow challenges.
  • You have deep user empathy and a passion for building tools for expert users. You’re energized by the challenge of making a specialist’s job easier and more impactful.
  • You understand that building a feature is only half the job. You have a knack for crafting a clear value proposition that drives enthusiastic adoption and measurable behavior change.
  • You are a natural leader who can drive decisions across disparate teams (e.g., clinical, operational, and technical teams), often influencing without direct authority. You know when to build consensus, and when to disagree and commit.
  • You have strong instincts for how AI can be practically applied to augment human workflows, not just as a gimmick, and are excited to put those ideas into practice.
  • You have a strong bias for action and know how to get things done. You can launch a scrappy MVP to learn quickly and know how to iterate toward a larger, more ambitious vision.
  • You know how to prototype with AI-powered tooling (e.g., Figma Make, Claude Code)
  • You are an exceptional communicator and collaborator who can inspire a team and manage stakeholders, from our front-line nurses to the C-suite.
  • You have a strong product and design sense, with a passion for creating consumer-grade experiences, even for enterprise tools.

Bonus points if you have any of the following

  • Experience with products that bridge digital experiences and human-delivered services.
  • Experience building workflow or platform tools for expert users (e.g., for developers, financial traders, scientists, etc).
  • Experience in healthcare technology, particularly in a value-based care or modern care delivery setting.
  • Founder experience or experience as a very early employee at a startup.
