About us

Pomelo Care is a multi-disciplinary team of clinicians, engineers and problem solvers who are passionate about improving care for moms and babies. We are transforming outcomes for pregnant people and babies with evidence-based pregnancy and newborn care at scale. Our technology-driven care platform enables us to engage patients early, conduct individualized risk assessments for poor pregnancy outcomes, and deliver coordinated, personalized virtual care throughout pregnancy, NICU stays, and the first postpartum year. We measure ourselves by reductions in preterm births, NICU admissions, c-sections and maternal mortality; we improve outcomes and reduce healthcare spend.

Role Description

As FP&A, Senior Manager or Director, you will play an integral role in forming Pomelo’s long-term business strategy and ensuring we achieve financial and growth objectives. You will have a front-row seat to important strategic decisions, providing the financial analysis and insights necessary to solve our trickiest problems.

Responsibilities

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Own Pomelo’s financial forecast, collaborating with Partnerships and Marketing to project revenue, as well as with Operations to model clinical capacity needs
  • Refine the financial metrics through which we monitor business performance and build strong processes to disseminate across teams in a scalable way
  • Partner with key stakeholders to drive strategy and operational decisions to improve unit economics and other key financial metrics
  • Provide financial analysis and insights to support key strategic initiatives, such as pricing decisions, hiring requests, or evaluating new partnerships
  • Produce Board-level financial reporting and analyses
  • Proactively identify other strategic finance priorities to improve and grow Pomelo’s business

Who you are

  • 5-10 years of finance experience, including having worked in operating finance roles at a tech or healthcare startup
  • Prior experience in investment banking, venture capital, or PE investment experience preferred
  • You are excited to build systems and processes from the ground up
  • You are a data-driven, analytical thinker who can also distill complex financial insights for a broader audience
  • You are comfortable with ambiguity and thrive in fast paced environments
  • You are creative, scrappy, and willing to wear many hats
