Role Description
Your north star: Support the Pomelo clinical practice through monthly coding of our synchronous and chat-based encounters with patients
In this role, you will have the following responsibilities:
- Review our video, audio, and chat-based encounters and interactions with patients at the end of every month/start of the new month
- Assign CPT codes (and supporting ICD-10 codes) for each encounter based on Medicaid rules, as well as rules we have agreed upon with our partner MCOs
- Identify coding patterns and propose ways to further streamline the coding process
Who you are
- Available for 20 hours during the first week of every month
- 5+ years medical coding experience with expertise in coding for obstetrics/gynecology and pediatrics, including lactation
- Experience with Medicaid coding, ideally in multiple states
- Experience coding for telehealth companies preferred
- Experience with PCM coding preferred
- Experience with coding asynchronous encounters preferred
- Experience with the athenahealth EHR preferred
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Passionate about maternal and child health
- Located in the US (required by our health plan contracts)
