Contract-to-Hire

Duration: 6 Months

Rate: $30-$40/hr

Hours expected: 32-40 per week

Position Overview
PHIL is seeking a talented and experienced Senior Instructional Designer to join our Learning & Development team on a 6-month contract-to-hire basis. This role will focus on building, organizing, and continuously improving our Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Standard Work (SW), and Reference Guides across the organization. Reporting to the Director of Learning & Development, you will work closely with frontline teams and leadership to ensure documentation is current, accessible, and actionable—enabling operational excellence and consistent onboarding.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain clear, accurate SOPs, Standard Work, and Reference Guides.

  • Partner with frontline teams, process owners, and leadership to document evolving workflows.

  • Work directly inside operational queues to gain deep process understanding.

  • Lead regular audits and updates of documentation to ensure accuracy and relevancy.

  • Support scalable training asset creation in collaboration with the Learning & Development team.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Technical Writing, Healthcare Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience)

  • 5+ years of experience creating SOPs, Standard Work, and Reference Guides

  • 2+ years working in a fast-paced startup environment, ideally in healthcare

  • Licensed technician with the ability to work directly in operational workflows

  • Strong instructional design skills with a talent for simplifying complex processes

  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Highly collaborative and comfortable working cross-functionally

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in healthcare or other regulated industries

  • Background in process improvement or operational excellence

  • Proficiency in documentation and content management tools
