  • $195K – $215K • Offers Equity

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. For sales roles, starting salaries are expressed as On Target Earnings (“OTE” = base + commission), and short-term incentives are in the form of and governed by sales commission plans.


Non-sales roles may also be eligible for additional compensation. Eligibility to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.

Role Summary:

Notable is a rapidly growing SaaS company seeking a highly analytical and experienced Controller with a strong background in revenue recognition and financial operations within the software-as-a-service industry. This pivotal role will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our accounting functions, with a particular emphasis on optimizing revenue recognition processes, ensuring financial compliance, and providing strategic insights to support our continued growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage all general accounting operations, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, payroll, and fixed asset management, tax and audit.

  • Spearhead the accurate and timely recognition of SaaS revenue in accordance with ASC 606 standards and other applicable GAAP pronouncements.

  • Oversee the Cap Sw process with a clear and concise knowledge governing ASC 350 & ASC 985, including the management of commissions tied to capitalization.

  • Develop, implement, and maintain robust internal controls and accounting policies to ensure financial integrity and compliance.

  • Oversee the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.

  • Prepare and analyze comprehensive financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.

  • Manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities, providing actionable insights for leadership.

  • Collaborate closely with sales, operations, and product teams to ensure accurate billing, invoicing, and contract management.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the finance department, including automation of processes and optimization of financial systems.

  • Manage external audits and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing accounting team.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA preferred.

  • 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, with a minimum of 4-5 years specifically in a Controller role within a SaaS company. 3-5 years of people management experience.

  • Demonstrated expertise in ASC 606 revenue recognition as well as ASC 350 & 985 capitalization principles and their application in a SaaS environment.

  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.

  • Proven ability to manage and optimize accounting processes and internal controls.

  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics) and advanced proficiency in Excel.

  • Ability to grow and develop a team.

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

  • Willingness to mentor and guide the accounting team as it grows with the company, providing guidance and hands on support when and where needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with a high-growth SaaS startup.

  • Familiarity with billing and subscription management platforms.

  • Experience with international operations and multi-currency accounting.
