Job Summary:


mPulse seeks a highly motivated and skilled Healthcare Data Engineer II to join the data engineering team. As a Healthcare Data Engineer II, you will be crucial in designing, developing, and maintaining our data platform to support our various data-driven healthcare initiatives.

The ideal candidate has a background in data engineering with analytic experience within healthcare is highly proficient with SQL and has excellent critical thinking skills.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Translate complex healthcare data into actionable insights to drive healthcare quality and efficiency.
  • Perform data manipulation and statistical analysis to identify trends, patterns, and insights.
  • Read, write, debug, and refactor SQL queries with proficiency. Experience with PostgreSQL or MS SQL Server is a plus.
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of dashboards, reports, and visualizations to communicate findings to stakeholders.
  • Assist with the design, development, and maintenance of analytic datasets including data quality and benchmarking assessments.
  • Work with clinical analytics teams to operationalize analytic and reporting innovations.
  • Execute a variety of clinical and financial ad hoc analyses in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Design workflows and improve automation, performance, efficiency, and productivity of data pipeline products.
  • Analyze complex data issues, identify root causes, and propose solutions clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, design data solutions, and ensure data integrity.
  • Document processes, specifications, and procedures.

    Skills & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree with coursework in statistics. A graduate degree in a related discipline is desirable.
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant data engineering and analytic experience preferably using healthcare claims data.
  • Highly proficient in reading, writing, debugging, and refactoring SQL queries.
  • Strong quantitative and problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality solutions.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with a focus on data accuracy and consistency
  • Familiarity with data visualizations tools such as Tableau and Looker Studio
  • Knowledge of data modeling, data warehousing, and ETL processes.
  • Experience with version control systems and data pipeline orchestration tools.


    Minimum Qualifications:
  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree
  • High proficiency in writing and reading SQL queries
  • 3+ years of analytics experience
  • 3+ years of data engineering experience
  • An analytical, creative, and innovative approach to solving difficult problems
  • Self-awareness to communicate your strengths and weaknesses
  • Willingness to listen, learn, and lend a hand to your teammates when needed
  • Ability to communicate status updates to internal and external team members
  • Experience in MS SQL Server is strongly preferred, in addition, PostgreSQL or Redshift SQL desirable
  • Familiarity with data visualization such as Tableau or Looker desirable
  • Familiarity with version control using git is desirable

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand and sit for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift 10 lbs. weight.
