About the Role:

We are seeking a strategic and execution-oriented Sr. Director, Diagnostics Strategy & Optimization to drive the next phase of growth and efficiency across our diagnostics and lab network. This leader will own the strategy, planning, and execution of initiatives that optimize lab operations and scale our diagnostics infrastructure to support the company’s growth goals.

This role is ideal for a senior business and strategy leader who can move seamlessly between high-level strategic thinking and hands-on program execution. Over time, this person will build and lead a team of program managers to deliver a robust portfolio of operational and strategic initiatives across the diagnostics space.

You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams across clinical and diagnostic lab operations, finance, procurement, technology, and data science to build a world-class diagnostics function that delivers quality, efficiency, and scalability.

You Will:

  • Develop and drive the diagnostics strategy — define the multi-year roadmap for scaling our lab network, optimizing cost structure, and improving operational performance.

  • Lead key strategic initiatives — such as optimizing unit economics, improving vendor relationships, optimizing turnaround times, and driving automation and process improvements.

  • Partner cross-functionally — work with finance, product, data, and clinical leadership to align diagnostics initiatives with broader business priorities.

  • Establish operational excellence frameworks — define governance, processes, and metrics for effective execution of cross-functional diagnostics programs.

  • Build and mentor a high-performing team — hire, develop, and lead program and strategy professionals as the function scales.

  • Drive continuous improvement — evaluate emerging technologies, partnerships, and lab models to inform long-term network design and innovation.

  • Act as a strategic thought partner — provide insights and recommendations to senior leadership on diagnostics expansion, vendor strategy, and cost optimization.

You Have:

  • 10+ years of experience in business strategy, program management, product management or diagnostics network management — ideally within healthcare, biotech, or logistics.

  • Proven experience leading large-scale operational or cost optimization initiatives across complex, cross-functional environments.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience using data to drive decisions.

  • Executive presence and communication skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and align diverse teams.

  • Demonstrated ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on program management and execution.

  • Experience managing or building teams, with a passion for developing and mentoring future leaders.

  • Deep understanding of diagnostics operations, lab workflows, or vendor management (preferred).

  • A Bachelor's Degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
