The Role: School Health Assistant

The School Health Assistant supports the School District of Philadelphia, working on-site daily to ensure the successful delivery of Hazel Health services in schools, coordinates with school staff (principals, wellness teams) to facilitate and ensure seamless delivery of service, implementation, engagement, and operational excellence.

Location: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

What You’ll Do:

  • Collaborate with the School Implementation Manager to visit each school site, ensuring optimal setup and readiness to engage with Hazel Health services.
  • Conduct site assessments and address any logistical or operational issues to ensure a smooth rollout.
  • Support in-person tabling events to drive awareness and engagement.

Daily On-Site Support In-Market

  • Visit schools daily to provide hands-on support, ensuring that all necessary resources are in place for visits and engagement.
  • Prepare and deliver daily lists of students scheduled for visits, ensuring timely communication and coordination with school staff.
  • Assist with preparing and distributing “class excuse notes” for students who have appointments during the school day.
  • Ensure the medical cart in the health office is fully stocked with necessary supplies at each school.
  • Collaborate with school nurses to identify any additional administrative support needs and ensure that the health office runs smoothly (ie consent uploads, technical support)
  • Increasing awareness among school stakeholders and families.
  • Assist with school admin communication.
  • Support in-person tabling events to drive awareness and engagement.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s in health Administration, Education, Business, or related field.
  • Experience in customer success, account management, or education partnerships (preferably in school settings).
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

Additional Requirements

  • Travel between school sites within the School District of Philadelphia will be required daily, Monday-Friday.
  • Availability to attend after-hours school events as needed (e.g., PTA meetings, open houses).
  • Flexibility to provide support to other school districts as needed.
