Job Summary

Under the direction of the Clinic RN, provides direct patient care including treatments, medication and diagnostic studies. Provides other support services, dictated by patient needs, as a care delivery team member.

Job Duties

  • Performs the duties of a Clinic LPN and serves as a role model in the delivery of quality patient care.
  • Obtains and documents chief complaint, vital signs, and prepares patient for examination.
  • Identifies and addresses physical, social and psychological needs of the patient and family to the registered nurse.
  • Observes, identifies and documents patient condition and care according to the unit standard and reports changes in condition to registered nurse.
  • Reinforces health teaching, collects and prepares laboratory specimens and completes associated paperwork.
  • Cleans and sets up exam rooms and treatment room between cases.
  • Administers medication and treatments according to procedure and bills and documents accordingly.
  • Prepares patient for diagnostic studies and surgical procedures and assists providers as necessary.
  • Demonstrates responsibilities and accountability in daily operational issues.
  • Inserts, monitors, regulates and discontinues IV's as required by provider.
  • Responsible for maintaining clean utility room, soiled utility room, exam rooms and nursing station to Department of Health, Joint Commission and Unit standards.
  • Assists in problem solving, trouble shooting, and taking corrective measure in care and handling of equipment.
  • Participates in the evaluation and coordination of daily and weekly staffing; coordinates any changes with management.
  • Coordinates purchasing activity, including but not limited to, monitoring inventory and supervising the ordering of items as needed.

Education

Graduate from Specialty Training Program-Nursing (Required)

Experience

Minimum of 2 years-Nursing (Required)

Certification(s) and License(s)

Licensed Practical Nurse - Default Issuing Body; Basic Life Support Certification - Default Issuing Body
