Job Summary

Geisinger is currently seeking a board-certified Pulmonary and Critical Care physician currently in practice with a minimum of 3 years of leadership experience and leadership education training is preferable. Experience with quality initiatives programs, program development and mission-oriented vision will be an expectation for this leadership role.

Job Duties

The candidate will receive an FTE allocation for their leadership responsibilities and will be expected to perform clinical responsibilities in pulmonary and critical care.

The vision for this position is to navigate the Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine Departments at Geisinger Wyoming Valley forward – specifically:

  • Recruitment

  • Program development

  • Best practice alignment

  • Site specific innovation

  • Oversight of the intensive care unit at GWV as the medical director. This will encompass quality reviews, oversight of MM for CCM, coordination with PI for reports, coordination with patient safety for reports, partnership with nursing, pharmacy, RT and management of the critical care committee. In addition, the intensive care unit medical director has oversight over responses for infection control issues, quality issues, regulatory compliance and DOH.

  • Oversight of the pulmonary and critical care staff at GWV. The faculty at GWV will report to this position and responsibilities for performance evaluations in addition to quality assessment of the staff will be expected as well as input for OPPE.

  • This position will report to the Chair Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine
