At Diverge Health we are passionate about improving health access and outcomes for those most in need. We partner with primary care providers to improve the engagement and management of their Medicaid patients, offering independent practices with specialized resources and clinical programs to close gaps in care. Our teams work to address medical, social and behavioral patient needs, lowering healthcare costs and improving patient lives. Guided by our core values of humility, continuous learning and feeling the weight, our team is on a mission to strengthen communities from within, unlocking people's ability to live their healthiest lives.

We are looking for a Director of Provider Relations to join our team! A pivotal part of our early team, you’ll be responsible for expanding our primary care network locally in Ohio, while contributing to the continued refinement of our central growth platform. Experienced in executing growth strategies, you will be comfortable driving provider growth, bringing a well-established network of physician relationships, deep knowledge of the local healthcare community, and the desire to win! Reporting to the Senior Director, Network Development, this is an opportunity for someone who is excited by building and passionate about solving tough problems with high impact.

What you’ll do

As Director of Provider Relations at Diverge, you will be accountable for driving our in-market growth, aligned with our market health plan partners, to target and contract with independent primary care practices that support the Medicaid population. Delivering this work, you will balance being hands on with initiating, negotiating, and closing contracts with independent primary care practices, while advancing strategic partnership discussions state-wide with aggregating provider entities in the market (i.e. IPAs, Health Systems, and large Provider Groups, etc.). You will clearly articulate the differentiation of Diverge Health, our model and its benefits. The outcome will be a seamless transition of new partnerships into our network, and consistent delivery of our market growth goals.

Key areas you’ll add value

  • Delivering Network Growth Plan: Driving growth execution across independent practices, Clinically Integrated Networks, and IPAs that have higher density of Medicaid panels. Contract Negotiation: Initiate, negotiate, and finalize contracts with primary care practices, ensuring mutually beneficial terms and adherences to regulatory requirements.
  • Collaboration with Operations: Partner with our market operations teams to ensure a smooth onboarding process for new providers, aligning messaging to ensure that expectations match the experience.
  • Relationship Transition: Actively assist in the transition of new partner relationships to our market field teams, providing essential guidance and support to maintain and grow partnerships.

What You Bring

  • Ability and desire to travel to and around the Cleveland Metropolitan area
  • A network of well-established relationships within the primary care and broader physician community across Ohio.
  • Demonstrated success in consistently achieving growth targets in the healthcare industry with a preference for a focus on the medical practice environment.
  • At least 7+ years of relevant experience in healthcare network development or related growth focused roles.
  • Familiarity with healthcare economics, specifically clearly communicating economics in the context of negotiating and closing contracts.
  • Experience utilizing Salesforce is strongly preferred, with a minimum comfort using a CRM tool to track activity.
  • Comfort with data, particularly transparency in pipeline activity reporting; clear success in a metric-oriented environment.

Personal Characteristics

  • Equally empathetic and objective, humble and highly conscientious; a teammate that inspires and motivates others.
  • Comfort with uncertainty; self-motivated and directed; can manage effectively in high growth, rapidly evolving environments.
  • A problem solver, able to think critically and strategically while being hands on in driving work; proactively identifies and resolves risks to execution and delivery.
  • Strong representation of the company's mission, vision, and values across all dimensions of internal and external interactions.
  • Strength in authentically connecting with people from all walks of life with empathy and humility.
  • Possess exceptional organizational skills and excels in clear, effective communication with key stakeholders.
  • Strategic thinker adept at building strong relationships and identifying pain points that can be effectively addressed through our partnership.

Compensation range: 120,000 - 145,000
