How You'll Make an Impact

We are seeking an innovative and results-driven Director of Engineering to lead our Care Coordination development team. This leader will be responsible for building, scaling, and mentoring a high-performing engineering organization—comprising both full-time employees and offshore contractors—focused on delivering SaaS solutions that power complex healthcare logistics and service operations.

The Care Coordination team is at the heart of our mission to simplify and optimize care planning, scheduling, inventory management, and referral workflows for service professionals and business users. You will partner closely with product, operations, and clinical leaders to deliver reliable, scalable, and user-friendly systems that drive operational excellence and patient outcome.

Comp band: $207-240K plus annual performance bonus

What You'll Do

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership: Set the vision and technical direction for Care Coordination engineering, aligning with business and product strategy.

Team Management & Growth: Recruit, develop, and retain top engineering talent. Build a culture of high performance, accountability, and continuous learning across both employed and offshore teams.

Product Delivery: Oversee the design, development, and delivery of SaaS products supporting:

  • Care planning and protocol-based activity management
  • Command center and virtual nurse tooling
  • Scheduling optimization and provider management
  • Inventory management for field teams
  • Seamless referral and integration workflows

Platform Simplification: Drive architectural simplification and modernization, ensuring systems are reliable, scalable, and easy to use for business and clinical users.

Operational Excellence: Champion engineering best practices in code quality, testing, automation, CI/CD, and incident management. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and operational rigor.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product, clinical, and operations leaders to translate complex requirements into simple, effective technology solutions.

Vendor & Contractor Management: Effectively manage offshore and contract engineering resources, ensuring alignment, quality, and cost-effectiveness.

Innovation: Identify and implement emerging technologies (e.g., AI, automation) to streamline workflows and improve care delivery logistics.

What You Need

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of progressive engineering leadership experience, including managing managers and distributed teams.
  • Proven track record building and scaling SaaS products for service organizations, ideally with complex logistics or workflow requirements.
  • Experience managing both full-time and offshore/contractor engineering teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to simplify platforms and deliver reliable, scalable, and user-friendly systems.
  • Strong background in software engineering best practices: agile development, DevOps, automated testing, and cloud-native architectures.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience in healthcare technology or regulated environments is a plus, but not required.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

Leadership & Management Skills

  • Strategic thinker with a bias for action and results.
  • Inspirational people leader and mentor; passionate about developing others.
  • Skilled at navigating ambiguity and driving clarity in fast-paced, evolving environments.
  • High emotional intelligence and ability to build trust across diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Data-driven decision maker with a strong focus on business impact and customer value.
