Overview:
Concert Health is seeking an execution-focused and strategically-minded Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to lead its technology, product, and information security functions. As a key member of the executive leadership team, the CTO will report directly to the President and partner cross-functionally to ensure that our technology stack empowers scalable, efficient, and secure clinical operations.
The ideal candidate brings a broad skillset that spans AI implementation, EHR integration, infrastructure scaling, and secure product development. This role is perfect for a hands-on leader who thrives in a high-growth healthcare environment and understands how to translate strategic priorities into tangible technical outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership
- Serve as a thought partner to the President, providing strategic insight into how technology enables company growth.
- Collaborate across clinical, operations, and commercial teams to align product development with end-user needs.
- Build, mentor, and retain high-performing technical and product teams.
- Implement and oversee release management, CI/CD pipelines, and QA practices that support rapid, reliable, and secure product delivery in a regulated healthcare environment.
- Champion test automation, code review culture, and deployment strategies that maintain system uptime and clinical safety.
Product & Engineering Management
- Develop and communicate a forward-looking technology vision and roadmap that aligns with business goals.
- Lead engineering, product, and IT teams in the development of robust, secure, and scalable platforms.
- Guide the buildout and refinement of proprietary tools and third-party integrations, with a focus on EHRs, Salesforce, and AWS.
AI & Clinical Efficiency
- Design and implement AI/ML solutions that enhance the productivity and impact of clinical teams.
- Champion the use of emerging technologies to reduce administrative burden and support clinical decision-making.
Information Security & Compliance
- Own security and privacy programs including HIPAA, SOC2, and HITRUST compliance.
- Develop and maintain robust cybersecurity policies and infrastructure.
- Partner with Legal, Compliance, and Risk teams to uphold best-in-class data protection practices.
Systems Integration
- Oversee cloud infrastructure (AWS) and optimize system architecture for performance, cost efficiency, and security.
- Ensure seamless integration across internal systems, EHRs, and partner platforms.
Maintain clear service delivery standards, SLAs, and uptime metrics.
Required Qualifications:
- 10+ years in technology leadership roles, preferably in high-growth, venture-backed healthcare or healthtech companies.
- Proven track record managing cross-functional tech teams in product, engineering, and security.
- Deep understanding of clinical systems (EHRs such as Epic, Athena, etc.) and patient data workflows.
- Demonstrated experience with AI/ML implementation in healthcare, particularly tools that improve clinical efficiency or reduce provider administrative load.
- Expertise with Salesforce CRM and AWS-based architecture (or similar cloud infrastructure).
- Demonstrated ability to scale engineering processes, including QA automation, release pipelines, and system observability.
- Excellent communicator with the ability to translate technical concepts into business priorities.
- Strong operational mindset with the ability to balance long-term strategy with day-to-day execution.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience building or scaling platforms used by behavioral health providers.
- Prior experience working in regulated healthcare environments (HIPAA, HITECH, SOC2).
Schedule:
- Full-time, 40 hours per week.
- Remote position with occasional travel (up to 20%).
