Clarify is looking for Senior Data Engineer to focus designing and implementing high quality, scalable, high-performance and resilient data pipelines utilizing modern Big Data technologies. This role is on a data ingestion and transformation team and will work collaboratively with other software and data engineers, product managers and data analysts focused on delivering quality data solutions to various Clarify platform teams and business stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, proven data design and implementation capabilities, passion for innovation and a highly developed drive to deliver results.

The Senior Data Engineer will be responsible for a range of responsibilities, including (but not limited to):

  • Design, develop, test, and deploy pipelines for big data processing
  • Gain a deep understanding of our platform architecture; own parts of it and help develop it further
  • Optimize and scale new and existing code
  • Evaluate new technologies and integrate them into our current infrastructure.
  • Conduct code reviews and help mentor junior engineers
  • Advocate best practices and coding standards
  • Be an integral part of a scrum team in a fast-paced startup environment; be flexible and willing to switch tasks based on the team's needs and priorities.

We are always looking for new team members who will add to our culture and have a strong passion for impact. In particular, the Senior Data Engineer will have:

  • 5+ years of hand-on experience developing big data pipelines
  • Expert-level Python and SQL knowledge
  • 2+ years of experience working with distributed data processing frameworks - Spark preferred
  • Practical knowledge of AWS services such as EMR, S3, Athena
  • Strong programming and algorithmic skills
  • Familiarity with Git, Airflow, relational databases, APIs
  • Bachelor’s or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science or a related field and Seven (7) years of experience in the position or related occupation
