Cecelia Health seeks to hire a Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) Contractor to work directly with patients, caregivers and providers at Type 1 clinics via our technology platform. This is a short-term position to support individuals with diabetes through the COVID-19 crisis. Temporary, part-time position consisting of 60-90 days at 20-30 hours per week telecommute from a home office.   POSITION DETAILS:

  • Directly provide diabetes education and device support through phone and/or video with patients/caregivers/providers with the goal of providing diabetes support and education during the COVID-19 crisis. 
  • Establish patient rapport quickly over the phone across a broad range of personality types
  • Provide basic COVID-19 support through approved FAQs and resources.
  • Produce behavior change among patients using motivational interviewing techniques
  • Available evenings and some Saturdays to accommodate patient schedules
  • Conduct outreach to patients within required timeframes set by the customer and needed by the patient
  • Consistently meet call quality requirements
  • Contract status

POSITION SKILL REQUIREMENT:

  • Must have current certification as a Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist from the National Certification Board for Diabetes Educators (NCBDE). Ability to work 20 -30 hours/week including some evenings and Saturdays, cannot be working another full-time job simultaneously
  • Must have experience in Type 1 Diabetes
  • Preferred pediatric experience
  • Must have CGM knowledge and experience to provide virtual CGM training and onboarding.
  • Must be able to provide insulin pump support as needed.
  • Comfortable working with providers making dosing/titration recommendations in insulin regimens as warranted.
  • Experience using motivational interviewing to provide positive behavior change
  • Ability to take regular call feedback positively and incorporate into performance
  • Must live in the USA
  • Have a home office setup for private patient conversations with high-speed internet
  • Able to work independently and manage time efficiently
  • Comfortable using advanced technology (electronic medical records, Microsoft Office, phone and scripting apps, device data, etc.)
  • Flexibility in recognizing different patient needs and adapt to using different communication approaches to best serve the patient
  • Wants to improve the lives of people with diabetes!

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  • Experience working with or for pharmaceutical or device company or insurance/payer company
  • Experience successfully recruiting patients to participate in health, wellness or disease management programs
