The Opportunity

We're looking for an experienced Senior Software Test Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who can drive the quality assurance process for our Software products. This role requires a strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), with a specific focus on requirements gathering and comprehensive test plan documentation within an FDA regulated environment. This role will report to the Staff DevOps Engineer and will not have any direct reports.

The compensation range for this role is market driven, with a salary range of $130,000 - $180,000. Additionally, we offer a robust benefits package. This offering is aligned with our overall compensation philosophy.

A Day in the Life

  • Lead and execute the entire testing process, including creating detailed test plans, test cases, and test reports.
  • Participate in risk analysis, verification & validation (V&V) activities for FDA SaMD software applications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (including product, development, quality, and regulatory affairs) to gather and analyze software requirements.
  • Develop and maintain robust automated and manual test suites using languages like Python or Java and test frameworks like Selenium or Cypress to build and maintain end-to-end automation tests.
  • Perform cross-browser and cross-platform manual testing for front-end web applications.
  • Execute manual functional testing for backend services.
  • Perform end-to-end User Acceptance Testing(UAT) as per test plans to validate user flows, functional requirements, and user experience.
  • Integrate test automation into continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines using Jenkins.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on software quality and compliance, mentoring junior engineers and promoting best practices.
  • Analyze test results, document defects, verify bug fixes, and ensure systems meet business requirements.
  • Manage defects, track issues, and work with development teams to ensure timely resolution.
  • Participate in design reviews and provide feedback on product usability and quality.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in software testing, with at least 2 years in a senior or lead role.
  • In-depth knowledge of the FDA SaMD approval process and documentation requirements (e.g., design control, risk management).
  • Expertise in requirements analysis and translating them into comprehensive test plans and cases.
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python or Java).
  • Hands-on experience with testing frameworks like Selenium or Cypress.
  • Experience with build automation tools like Jenkins or services like Playwright.
  • Strong understanding of test methodologies (e.g., black box, white box, regression).
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
  • Experience in using project management tools such as Jira and Zephyr
  • Strong understanding of agile and waterfall methodology
