The Provider Team: We're the team behind Brightside's in-house EMR, and we're on a mission to make our clinicians' lives easier. Think less paperwork, more patient care. We're building tools for everything from case management and note taking to prescribing and lab ordering, all designed to make working at Brightside delightful.
What You’ll Do as a Senior Software Engineer, Provider: We are looking for Senior Software Engineers with a strong product sense who value a high degree of autonomy. You will be working closely with a dedicated team consisting of a product manager, engineering manager, designer, and four other software developers to build experiences that make clinicians better and faster. You will be our 5th (or 6th) developer!
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver end-to-end features in both the Rails API and React front-end.
Collaborate daily with your product manager, designer, and engineering manager to ship high-quality features for our customers.
Maintain a high level of quality in our codebase through well-written unit tests, code reviews, and automation.
Ensure high performance of code and monitor performance metrics, making necessary improvements.
Drive value by measuring impact through A/B testing and data-driven decision-making.
Plan and communicate your plans through technical documentation and RFCs.
Think like a user and have an opinion when presented with design and product proposals.
Look for ways to effectively de-scope initiatives.
Mentor and support other developers on the team.
Requirements:
Full stack engineer, confident at any level of the stack from the data warehouse to the backend to the frontend or native app.
Substantial experience building and supporting complex React web applications.
Substantial experience managing APIs in Rails.
Excel in a highly collaborative setting with various stakeholders and subject matter experts.
Experience with performance measurement and monitoring tools.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, 100% remote environment with tight feedback loops and continuous delivery.
Experience building/supporting HIPAA-compliant applications is preferred.
Strong product sense with a focus on building efficient clinical workflows and modern solutions.
