Boulder Care is looking for Collaborating Physicians who are aligned with Harm Reduction principles and have experience supervising Nurse Practitioners prescribing Medication for Opioid Use Disorder (MOUD). This is a 100% remote, part-time (5-10 hours per month), 1099 position.

• Have an active MD or DO license in any U.S. state for at least 2 years
• Have experience supervising Nurse Practitioners in a collaborative agreement
• Have at least 2 years of experience managing a panel of patients receiving buprenorphine treatment for opioid use disorder
• Are comfortable working remotely (5-10 hours per month)

About the role

Reporting to the team’s Medical Director for Clinical Operations, our Collaborating Physicians provide remote supervision and thought leadership for our growing team of Advanced Practice Provider Clinicians.

Collaborating Physicians (MD/DO) at Boulder Care provide supervision to the clinical team via chart reviews and one-on-one meetings. Collaborating MD’s have the opportunity to participate in ongoing Quality Improvement Committee work and didactic Clinician ECHO meetings (quarterly or biannually).

Requirements for the role

• An active MD or DO license in any US state for at least 2 years
• Strong clinical diagnostic skills including working familiarity with low-barrier, harm-reduction-driven, evidence-based care for people who use drugs
• Valid license to practice medicine and DEA license in the state(s) of operation
• Must be eligible and willing to obtain licenses in multiple states
• At least 2 years of experience managing a consistent panel of patients to whom your team prescribes buprenorphine treatment for opioid use disorder
• Experience collaborating within an interdisciplinary care team

Supervisory Responsibility

• This position will provide collaborative supervision for Nurse Practitioners as required by state regulations. Number of supervisees will be determined by state requirements and the physician's licensure and capacity.

Work environment

• This is a fully remote role
• Office Requirements: Boulder teammates working with sensitive information must have a dedicated, private workspace with a lockable door and high-speed internet to maintain a secure, distraction-free environment, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and confidentiality standards
• Boulder Care employees are free to use our river-front HQ located in Portland, OR whenever they would like

Expected hours of work

This is a part-time, 1099 position with 5-10 hours of expected work per month. Team members may work with their managers to adjust work hours to suit the needs of the position. Team members may be asked to work additional days as work demands require.

Compensation

The pay for this position is $160 per hour
