About Aytza

Aytza is building the future of strategic consulting. We're an AI-native consulting firm that fuses the depth of human expertise with the precision and speed of AI—designed from the ground up for healthcare startup leaders.

We flip the traditional consulting pyramid on its head: a core AI engine powers our data and analysis (with humans in the loop), enabling experienced advisors to support startups in a leaner, faster way. Our clients are founders navigating complex, high-stakes decisions in the healthcare space.

The Role

We're hiring a Head of Product Engineering or Lead Product Engineer depending on experience—what matters most is your ability to own the technical vision and ship alongside our team.

This role reports directly to the C-suite, with a primary partnership with the Chief Product Officer (CPO) and close collaboration with the CEO.

As a key technical leader in our AI-native consulting firm, this is a unique opportunity to contribute to our codebase from the ground up. You will be responsible for making crucial architectural decisions that will define the company's technical trajectory for years to come—this is not a role for someone who prefers to inherit an existing system.

You'll work directly with our CPO to translate deep consulting methodology into products that help healthcare startup leaders make better decisions, faster. You'll own both the AI/data infrastructure and the product experience—we need someone who can move fluidly between building LLM pipelines and shipping high-quality user-facing features.

This is a remote role with the expectation of flexibility to collaborate during East Coast hours, and the ability to travel occasionally for in person team time. We're a distributed team, but real-time collaboration matters—especially in our current stage.

What You'll Do

  • Build our core product. Design and implement the technical architecture for Aytza's consulting OS—from data ingestion to client-facing outputs
  • Drive Product Strategy. Partner with the CPO to define the product vision, roadmap, and success metrics that align with Aytza's strategic goals
  • Lead User Discovery. Engage directly with healthcare startup founders and Aytza strategy advisors to conduct user research, gather insights, and translate customer needs into high-impact product features
  • Own the AI/LLM Stack. Build workflows that surface insights from messy, unstructured data (press releases, podcasts, expert transcripts, public databases). Implement RAG pipelines, AI agents, and reasoning systems
  • Translate Frameworks into Code. Encode proven consulting methodologies (e.g. JTBD analysis, scoring frameworks, decision gates) into reusable, automated systems
  • Define Design Specifications. Collaborate with design/UX to ensure a seamless, high-quality user experience that effectively delivers AI-powered insights
  • Ship product weekly. We operate in tight iterations. You'll ship features to real clients, gather feedback, and improve rapidly
  • Define our Technical Culture. Establish how we build—tooling choices, documentation practices, code quality standards, and operational workflows

Tech Stack

We're AI-native and building from scratch. Stack is modern (React, TypeScript, Cloudflare) and intentionally early—your technical judgment will shape it.

What We're Looking For

Technical Requirements

  • 5+ years building and shipping products, startup experience strongly preferred
  • Hands-on experience with LLMs (OpenAI, Anthropic, open source)—you understand Agent architectures, prompt engineering, and building reliable AI-powered products
  • Comfortable with Next.js, React, and TypeScript for modern web applications
  • Fluent with AI coding tools like Cursor and Claude Code—we use these daily
  • Experience with data ingestion, ETL/ELT pipelines, and working with messy real-world data. Preference for candidates with experience building strategic, data-centric products rather than purely operational ones.

Mindset and Skills

  • Ownership mentality: You don't wait for specs. You understand the problem, propose solutions, and execute end-to-end
  • Product instinct: You think about users first. You know when "good enough" ships faster than "perfect"
  • Comfort with ambiguity: We're building something new. You're energized by figuring things out, not frustrated by it
  • Strong communicator: You can explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, understand others' described outputs, and translate them into technical specifications. We're a "write first" company
  • Broad healthcare or consulting experience is a big plus
