Role Overview

The Revenue Cycle Management Specialist is responsible for working the accounts receivable with a focus on denial management and revenue recovery. Reporting to the Director of Revenue Cycle Management, this individual will work closely with clinical and administrative teams to maximize reimbursement, reduce denials, and maintain compliance with payer regulations and guidelines.

This is a fully remote position based in the Philippines. The role requires full-time availability during U.S. Eastern Time hours, specifically 5:00 AM – 1:00 PM EST, which is 5:00 PM – 1:00 AM Philippines Time.

Key Responsibilities

Billing and Claims Management

  • Monitor claim status, follow up on unpaid or rejected claims, and resolve issues to secure reimbursement.

  • Coordinate with insurance payers to resolve payment variances and request necessary adjustments, refunds, or supporting documentation.

  • Prepare, review, and submit claims to insurance payers.

  • Verify claim accuracy, including coding, modifiers, authorization and payer requirements.

  • Generate client statements and assist with client billing inquiries.

    Denial Management

  • Analyze claim denials, determine root causes, and submit corrected claims or appeals timely.

  • Monitor trends in denials, refunds, and payment patterns to proactively identify areas of concern or improvement.

  • Monitor clearinghouse rejections and refile corrected claims promptly.

Reporting & Compliance

  • Track revenue cycle KPIs (ex. denial rate, collection percentage).

  • Maintain compliance with HIPAA and payer-specific regulations.

  • Provide leadership with regular performance reports and updates.

  • Stay current with changes in billing guidelines, payer requirements, and industry standards.

Qualifications

Experience:

  • Minimum of 1-2 years in medical billing, collections, or revenue cycle operations (RCM, AR follow-up, or collections).

  • Knowledge of health insurance payers, policies, and payer portals. (Commercial, Medicaid, Managed Care)

  • Experience with Behavioral Health and/or, Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) Therapy preferred.

Skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Proficiency in EMR/EHR and practice management systems.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment.

  • Attention to detail, accuracy, and time management.
