Amae Health is defining the standard of care for people with severe mental illness.
We’re on a mission to deliver radically different care for the 14 million Americans suffering with a severe mental illness (SMI). Amae Health is an integrated, outpatient care provider for patients with SMI, treating their psychiatric and physical conditions through in-person care delivery with wrap-around services. Our approach recognizes the unique needs of our patients, and provides personalized treatment across the physical, mental and social service resources required to holistically improve patients’ lives. We will accept Medicaid in addition to commercial/private insurances and our services are designed to complement the work already being done in the community. Amae Health is seeking empathetic Licensed Mental Health Therapist to partner with us in providing care for complex adult patients. This role will be full-time and in person at our Houston clinic.
About the Job
The Licensed Mental Health Therapist brings experience providing individual and group therapy to adults, using evidence-based interventions, and will be required to work within a multidisciplinary treatment team during clinic hours. In this role, it is imperative to take a person-centered approach, while delivering evidence-based interventions and practice measurement-based care, in an integrated care setting.The Mental Health Therapist will provide individual and group therapy to patients experiencing serious mental illness, as well as psychoeducation and support for patients’ families. Additional responsibilities include providing consultation to therapists on the treatment team, which may include licensed therapists as well as trainees, as well as assisting with program development.
About You
- Maintain one of the following Texas licenses in active, unrestricted status: Psychologist (PsyD or PhD), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Psychoanalyst, or Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)
- Thrives in a collaborative team environment and establishes positive relationships with other medical professionals.
- At least 1 year of experience in severe mental illness. .
- Experience and interest in working with adults.
- Experience in evidence-based interventions, including CBT, DBT, or MI.
- Ability to navigate challenging situations with professionalism.
- Thorough understanding of confidentiality and appropriate documentation standards.
- Highly organized with the ability to work autonomously.
- Possess strong listening skills and excellent verbal communication capabilities.
