ABOUT THE ROLE
As part of our rapid growth, we are looking for a Director of User Experience to drive and oversee Ada’s product design and user research strategy across the company and provide sound strategic guidance, vision and direction to our user experience team within the organization.
As a senior leader driving customer obsession, you will be part of our Product Leadership Team and actively contribute to the product strategy and vision of the company. You will lead a team of product designers.
Since the UX team is currently based in Europe, you will need a minimum of 4 working-hours overlap with the CET timezone. Therefore, the candidate should be ideally based in the East Coast (US) or Europe.
WHAT YOU WILL DO :
- Create, drive and oversee Ada Health’s user experience (Product Design & UX Research) strategy and vision in alignment with the overarching product and technology roadmap based on profound craft and industry experience.
- Drive excellence in Service design to support growing needs of complex end-to-end problems to solve in the healthcare space
- Own and drive company-wide oversight of Ada’s user experience by providing strong design & UX(R) craft leadership, establishing and improving team processes, and outlining global standards and guidelines to ensure a coherent and seamless user experience, ultimately leading to a world class user satisfaction.
- Manage, lead and develop a team of experienced product designers and user researchers who lead various product areas in order to optimize business impact, speed of delivery, product innovation, tight collaboration and strong alignment.
- Lead hiring, performance management, and professional development of the design, and user research teams with the support of our People Business Partner, and ensure a core emphasis on strong team culture and collaboration.
- Support shaping the product vision of the company as part of the Product Leadership Team by ensuring the UX view is considered, initiatives are well-integrated, and we deliver a world-class user experience and product innovation.
- Collaborate with senior stakeholders across the company to provide strategic guidance and understanding of our user experience, design & research standards and quality goals.
- Partner with cross-functional teams and develop a strong collaborative relationship with key stakeholders across the company; maintain a laser focus on ensuring the effective integration of the Design & UX department with other areas of the company.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING :
- Minimum of 10+ years of experience in Product Design; minimum of 4+ years experience as a Director of User Experience (Design & UX Research) or comparable leadership position with similar responsibilities (see above) within the health-tech / med-tech field; 4+ years in start-up/scale-up companies
- Demonstrated success in developing and implementing a comprehensive design & UX strategy that supports the business goals and overall product roadmap.
- Experience working in a variety of environments (B2B, B2C, B2B2C) and understanding their differing ecosystem needs is preferred.
- Extensive people management experience with a proven record of managing, developing, guiding and scaling a multi-disciplinary team of designers and researchers within a dynamic and collaborative environment.
- Strong stakeholder management skills at all levels of an organization, especially Product, Engineering (and Medical). A high degree of comfort calling out risks, challenging existing norms, and driving healthy debate.
- Excellent collaborative and influencing skills with a focus on building and maintaining trusted relationships throughout the organization and reaching an alignment with key stakeholders.
- Demonstrated a very high level of integrity and trustworthiness and have high ethical standards.
- You have an entrepreneurial mindset and thrive when building things from the ground up, combining strategic and tactical capabilities.
- Fluency in English, both spoken and written
